About Luckies

Our Facility has 4 Iron Mike pitching machines, 5 indoor pitching mounds, indoor turf infield, private cages and a weight room.

Our story

When Scott Strader and Richie Pegram launched the Reidsville Luckies Batting Academy, they wanted to connect with the community’s rich baseball history.

The original Reidsville Luckies were a minor league baseball team based in Reidsville, North Carolina, USA. They played in the Bi-State League from 1935–1940 and returned in 1947 as part of the Tri-State League in 1947. They switched to the Carolina League in 1948 and remained there till the team was dissolved after the 1955 season.

So you might say the new Reidsville Luckies had to step into some pretty big shoes, but based on their success, it turned out to be a perfect fit. Now, with their No. 1 national 8u ranking, they have added another chapter of baseball history to the city of Reidsville.

Why us?

We want to showcase the amazing talent that we have here in Rockingham County. We strive to have our kids playing at the next level. If they want to go on to college or try to become a pro. We want to be there to help them reach their goals. That’s part of what the Reidsville Luckies Batting Academy is all about

How can we get there?

RLBA is a full service academy offering a variety of baseball and softball services for girls and boys. These services include: private lessons, batting cages, pitching machines, weight room and infield area. We hope to make your child’s experience here one they will carry with them throughout their playing years.  You can find our facility at 524 South Scales Street in downtown Reidsville North Carolina.
